Save Lali’s Track
Posted by osdaadmin on August 28, 2008 in Roller Derby
Hello everyone,
My name is DeeDee Medina and for those who do not know me, I have been a fan since I was 8 years old.
After that I had the great honor to meet several stars of the Roller Derby and made many friends. I skated very briefly for Roller Derby in the 90’s in the ASDA’s School Daze Tour. Since then I have been mainly behind the scenes, and help out with whatever I can do to for a game, from getting the track crew lunch to being uniform girl to score keeper, to calling teams to trackside.
As most of you know Lali’s track was destroyed by a small tornado in Las Vegas.(see pictures below).
After getting estimates for parts needed to repair the track it is going to cost Lali 10k to get the track back to it’s original shape.
I have created an email address and a Paypal account for Lali O.
So here is my challenge, if everyone in Derby could help out in some way, be it a small donation or words of encouragement to Lali O, it would be greatly appreciated.
Every dollar counts and will be used 100% towards the track.
Lali also wants everyone to know that after the track is repaired anyone that comes to Las Vegas will always be welcomed to come by and skate or train.
Email to savelalisTrack@aol.com
www.paypal.com
I have started off the account with $10.00.
As the Reporter always asks us “why do you do this”?
We always say “because it is in my blood and that Roller Derby is my life”
Please forward the message to everyone, and post on every Roller Derby group.
Remember everyone that skates Derby is family.
A great heartfelt “THANK YOU” to my Derby family.
Always
DeeDee Medina
